Content Marketing is a way to organically increase traffic to your website using valuable content in the form of text, video, audio and/or images. It's how SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is done in 2018.
People are researching solutions to their problems. If you create interesting and valuable information, relevant to your product or service, that content will pull in thousands of new potential customers.

Almost every-time I mention it to a B2B salesperson they ask, what is content marketing? People want to know and they're searching for it. Create content for the most common questions your customers ask.
By answering questions and providing helpful information, you become a trusted resource in the buyers mind. Share your knowledge and expertise with the world.
Provide Content on the Buyers Terms
When I create content I ask myself three questions:
- Would this interest me (or the customer persona I'm targeting)?
- What stage of the buyers journey will this fit?
- What is the best medium to use (Blog, Video, Infographic)?
If it's long-form content I'll make it a downloadable eBook. If it's visually complex, I'll use an infographic. If it's highly visual I may use video.
The information has to be convenient to consume. That's why I started the CPM Podcast. People can't read an eBook during their commute, but they can listen👂🏼
Call To Action
Make sure you have a plan. What do you want the visitor or reader to do next? Make it easy for them to convert, whether that's joining your email newsletter, requesting a quote, or scheduling a demo.
Keep the C2A simple and intuitive. Nurture them until they're ready to make a purchase decision.
